MagicWorld is an online community that's free to join for all magic enthusiasts!

The mission of the MagicWorld Community is to provide a friendly, fun, entertaining, and nurturing community for its members. All members and users of the site are expected to abide by the following rules and policies detailed below.

Keep it clean and family-friendly
It is of the utmost and highest priority of the MagicWorld Community to keep site and member-associated information and content clean and appropriate for its members. This means all content (including, but not limited to, pictures, videos, discussions and category posts, blog entries, member profile pages, member's friends and member's other subscribed networks on *Ning) must not contain any vulgar, obscene or otherwise inappropriate language or other such suggestive material. Members will be immediately banned and such inappropriate content will be removed from the MagicWorld community.

* Ning (ning.com) is the social-network platform that MagicWorld Community is built on.

The MagicWorld's Community Code:
No magic secrets, including the performance of sleights, will be revealed in any form in this community, including exposure through links, videos, postings, private messages, and any other community tools.

Be Polite!
Do not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws. Be polite! Healthy debate and discussions are okay, however posting rude, attacking, insulting, profane and uncalled for comments are not allowed and may result in the permanent termination of your account.

Copyrighted Content:
MagicWorld Community forbids members from posting, modifying, distributing or reproduction in any way of copyrighted material, trademarks, or other proprietary information belonging to others without the prior written consent of the owner of such proprietary rights.

Chat:
As with all features and tools available at MagicWorld, Chat is a privilege and its use is strictly enforced by the Terms of Use. Absolutely no defamatory or other harassing language is acceptable in the form of a message or private message to another member. If this conduct is reported, member sending the inappropriate message may be instantly banned. Report any such cases of improper use of this tool immediately. A screen shot (by hitting the "Print Screen", or similar key, on your keyboard) is important to providing evidence of the abuse. Chat is not an advertisiting forum. No ads allowed.

Groups:
As of now, the groups feature is open to all members. Any user is able to create their own group. Not all groups will take off like wildflowers, but others will if properly created and maintained. The general rules of the site also apply to user created groups. All members will be treated fairly and there will be absolutely no slandering, attacks, or other disrespectful comments made to anyone at anytime.

If these guidelines are broken, it is the sole discretion of the MagicWorld Community is to take appropriate action by removing groups, members, etc.

Marketplace Etiquette:
Advertising is only permitted in the marketplace/advertising forums. Do not post the same advertisement or self promotion in multiple forums.

Please do NOT post derogatory remarks in the Sales/Classifieds/Advertising threads OR attempt to "appraise" the magic or items(s) for sale. Only post if you have questions about the Sale, or are interested in the item.

Do not reply to posts in the advertising forums unless you are specifically interested in the product or service or having something valueable to add. Comments such as "too pricey for me", "can't afford that much", or "wish I had money" are not appreciated by the originating Sales thread poster. Do not reply and attempt to trash another members ad or say you've found better etc. Low-ball offers (relative to a posted Asking price) in the thread are not appropriate, either. PM the owner with these types of offers or inquiries. When in doubt, simply "PM" the owner.

Common sense goes a long way ... just put yourself in the shoes of the sales thread starter.

Contests:
Contests only started, managed, and endorsed by MagicWorld staff are allowed. Members may not start their own contests through any of the available tools on the site (forums, videos, pictures, blogs, groups, etc.). Contests are defined as any activity that encourages other members to 'compete' in some capacity as to win a prize.

Affiliate Advertising:
The Marketplace is intended for advertising products and services owned or operated by forum members. Affiliate or referral "links" are not appropriate anywhere on the forum.

Multiple Sales Threads / Bumps. There is a limit of one sales thread per marketplace forum per day per member. Gratuitous self *bumps* are limited to one per 24 hour period. We want to make it as fair as humanly possible to ALL MagicWorld members.

Our primary focus is building and nurturing the MagicWorld community. We respect that every forum has their own unique qualities of good and bad, however we ask that you do not use MagicWorld to promote, OR conversely, to depreciate other magic related discussion forums. Likewise we also ask that you do not use other magic forums to advertise for MagicWorld. This makes for an overall more fair, healthy and friendly environment.

Signatures need to be set up in your profile. Signatures should contain no more than 4 lines. Please keep your signatures at a reasonable size. Do not place URL's or links to sites that contain explicit, vulgar, sexually-orientated, or obscene content in your signatures or personal profile pages.

DO NOT SPAM:
Do not spam other members through private messages or any other way on the forum. You may not use the forum or private messaging to solicit members to come to your website or offer any products or services or for any other reason unless the member has specifically requested the information. If you receive any private messages or come across any message that you suspect may be spam please report it to a moderator or administrator. The following are a few examples of what is considered spam. Very short posts that do not add value to the current post. Example: a post with only the words, "i dunno" or "lol cool" can be considered spam.

Double Posting:
A double post is a back to back post by the same person. The second post may be considered spam. If you make a post and realize that you
have made a mistake please use the edit/delete options, these are located to the right of each posted message. There are exceptions to this, but very few and it us up to the moderators to decide.

Posts that serve no purpose other than to up ones post count are considered spam. For example, if someone asks a question and you reply just to say you don't know the answer, this will be considered spam.
Your MagicWorld Community account may not be transferred or sold to another party. Duplicate accounts are not permitted.

We strive to maintain a professional atmosphere on our community. Please do try to post in a manner that people can read and understand. Usage of pager-talk (text message style, ie: u and ur ) or "leet" talk is discouraged.

Please refrain from begging. Panhandling is not allowed.

Click fraud (encouraging clicks on pay per click advertising) is taken very seriously. Do not encourage it in any form on our site.
