Anthony, we spend a lot of time perfecting our craft and practising the secrets should only be given to those willing to put the time in.

I have many people asking to learn magic, I show them a very simple card trick then get them to perfom this. If they do well then I show them one more.

9 time out of 10 though most people don't want to learn they just want to know the secret of how it is done.

I totally agfee, I`d go one step further , & say DONT show anyone your secrets , in magic tricks.

I learnt the hard way. It took me a long time to find any decent magic books and even longer to find a dealer, after which I was pointed in the direction of my local Magic Society. I then had to do a small audition to show how interested I was. I started about 25 years ago. It now saddens me to see on places like you tube people giving away secrets, also how easy it is to find internet magic shops.

I have recently been discussing this with people involved in magic and it is disgusting. It is at worsed theft if not it is morally and ethically wrong. I dont put any exposure on my site even though it would be the easiest way to get traffic.

 

If the shoe was on the other foot and they had to support a family and pay the mortgage through the money made from there hard work and creativity.

 

If I had the time and money i would do all I could to protect the art I love and believe is the best of all creative arts. Then again I am a bit biased.

It is wrong of the people top post how to... videos on the internet. If people want to learn there are many ways to do this and it is not expensive. Buying a couple of books and a couple of packs of cards and you are on the way. Magic shops are a necessity or magic would end we need to buy our stuff from somewhere.

 

There are some brill clips on youtube of people performing but giving Any secrets away for free on there is wrong.

I dont think the secret to magic tricks should be revealed at all, that is not the way to go by any person. Its a bit like saying should religion be taught at School or home ????
