how can i learn to perform magic?

Yeah for backpalming I now use regular steamboat playing cards which have all red backs, but I would recommend if starting out use (not poker) sized cards, but a bridge size playing cards. Then one at a time go through the deck with a ruler or something solid. Put the card on the table and hold the corner of it between your finger and thumb.. Then get the ruler on it's edge pushing hard down on the playing card. Then pull the card with your finger and thumb while pushing down on ruler until the card has been pressed in all directions possible both front and back. Now repeat this with every card in the deck.

Now the cards will be very bent, so you need to put them into a card vice, (or 2 books with a heavy weight on top so that it flattens the cards again (leave overnight) And then if the cards are good quality you should find them much easier to manipulate.
